About

This two-day course with professional printmaker Rachel Dun explores the art of linocut printmaking, focusing on the natural world as a source of inspiration. Through hands-on practice and creative experimentation, this workshop will engage with the fundamental principles, tools, and techniques of linocut to find expression in the connection to nature.

Day One: Rachel will guide participants through the essentials of linocut, helping to carve, ink, and print designs. Using an easy-to-carve material known as soft cut block, participants will create bold, graphic artworks that reflect the beauty and complexity of the natural world and complete a small edition of prints.

Day Two: Building on skills from the first day participants will explore two-colour lino printing, layering colours to evolve each artwork. Participants will develop more complex compositions, producing a small edition of two-colour prints, and gain a deeper understanding of linocut techniques that celebrate the natural world.

This workshop is open to beginners as well as those seeking to advance their skills in linocut printmaking.

Each day will include a short lunch break. Bring your own food or enjoy the Gallery Café next door.

Advanced bookings are required via the ticketing link below, or by phoning the Gallery on 02 6681 0530.
