Join us afterhours at the Northern Rivers Community Gallery (NRCG) for a reading from Fever – the multi award-winning literary debut of Italian writer Jonathan Bazzi, who has been described as a ‘bold new voice in contemporary queer literature’. Read by Ivan Crozier, Community Health Promotion Officer for ACON in the Northern Rivers, Fever is “at once a deeply personal story, and a searing examination of class, poverty, prejudice, and opportunity in modern Europe.” (Scribe Publications).
Ivan writes “Fever” [is] an important contribution to contemporary queer autofiction and a fascinating account of HIV that takes this genre away from the heavy years of AIDS mortality to the current climate of [u+] undetectable living.”
Ivan’s reading will be followed by a relaxed discussion of the text, and an afterhours viewing of the exhibition Exhale in forward motion, with curator Fabian Pertzel, on display at NRCG from 6 March – 28 April.
This event is part of Exhale in forward motion – an exhibition exploring artwork as narrative and inviting audience into the worlds of Queer regionality. Curated by Northern Rivers multi-disciplinary artist Fabian Pertzel.
This event is open to members of the LGBTQI+ Community and their allies. Free, but with limited capacity and bookings required.
