In April 2017, Pixel the Past presented new digital media works in an exhibition at the Northern Rivers Community Gallery (NRCG) that explored nine heritage stories from the Ballina Shire. Alstonville High School students (years 9-12), members of the Plateau’s Historical Society – the ‘heritage buddies’ – and digital media creators Duke Albada, Susie Forster and Karenza Ebejer collaborated over nine months to research and create these works. Project participants attended a series of workshops, led by historian Kate Gahan, to inspire the stories. These are the creative outcomes from the project.
