No Mud, No Lotus | Aesha Kennedy
21 October - 13 December 2020
No Mud, No Lotus responds to the teachings of Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hahn. Kennedy’s abstract paintings explore his teachings that the lotus flower cannot exist without the mud, an analogy for the fact that nothing exists without it’s opposite - the necessity for the light and dark experiences within human existence, and the cycles of life.
